Now in it?s 6th year Grillin? On The Bay attracts some top chefs, cooks and competition barbecue teams from Maine to Ohio to see if they can compete with award winning Brooklyn BBQ pitmasters. New York City?s only barbecue and grilling contest is sponsored by RUB BBQ and sanctioned by The New England BBQ Society.
The Brooklyn Chili Smackdown at Grillin? On The Bay allows amateurs and professionals to compete against each other at what America does best: chili!
Previous years have drawn about 30 pots of different kinds of chili, from your traditional blends to all kinds of chili craziness. There?s no registration process ? just show up with two gallons of your favorite recipe and have a chance to win $100!
The Brooklyn Chili Smackdown is entirely a People?s Choice event, and attendees pay just $10 for all you can eat chili. BBQ, beer and other food and drinks will be available for purchase.
The event benefits the St. Mark School Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn.
Grillin? On The Bay and The Brooklyn Chili Smackdown takes place in the schoolyard of St. Mark School on the corner of East 18th Street and Avenue Z.
